FLB formation Weekend at Schaffen (Belgium)
Saturday June 30 - Sunday July 1st
In preparation for the AN72 Boogie in Germany, we are organizing a wingsuit formation weekend at Schaffen. We will be joined by enthusiastic South Africans, ugly Brits, beer drinking Germans and lots of crazy Belgians and Dutchies of course!
We will be dividing the dives into two groups, and its up to you to decide what group you want to join.
1. Full Flight Flocking - though not our aim for every jump, most times the base will be flying near flull flight. Its your duty to fly to the top of your skills, and be in your slot. No bent knees in these photos. But actual flying wingsuits. Max distance, max airtime! For these jumps we'll be requesting special run-ins towards the DZ. So no turns have to be made as group. Just one straight line. One big formation.
Costyn van Dongen, Alejandro Lopez and Jarno Cordia will be doing the organising and video for this group.
2. Classic Flocks - skills building flocks for people with less flocking experience.
Hans Schoeber, together with Danny and "Bassie" will be organising and leading this group
All the jumps will be briefed and debriefed with video. Trying to not only pay attention to the formation, but also individual flying skills, and ways to get to the formation and fly your slot.
If the load capacity is there, at the end of the weekend, we will try and join the two groups into one big group. And during the weekend, its always free switch back and forth between groups!
For people coming from far, arriving on Friday (in either Holland or Belgium) is probably best. Send us an email through our website, and we'll try and hook you up with a free place to stay. We will head for the DZ early Saturday morning from several locations in Holland and Belgium.
The dropzone will be arranging a BBQ for us on saturday evening.
The dropzone does not have a bunkhouse, but camping on the dropzone is allowed and otherwise a nearby hotel can be arranged.
Sunday evening we'll head back to Holland (where we will try and arrange free places to sleep for everyone again) and we will do a full featured tour of Amsterdam on Monday for those interested and party throughout the town.
Early Tuesday morning we will leave Holland and head for Germany where the big AN72 will be waiting to take us up to 18K ft for a huge 80 way.
Drop us a line and join in on the fun!
Useful information
Flying
If you are coming from far, you could either opt to fly to Amsterdam or Rotterdam Airport in the Netherlands. Or Antwerpen or Brussels airport in Belgium. EasyJet.com and Transavia are just a few of several airlines offering cheap flights to these locations.
TransportationWe have a few select places in cars, but we sadly do not own a tourbus or trailer for livestock. If you let us know you're coming, next to trying to find you a free place to sleep, we will try to get people in contact with each other to arrange things like car rental etc. Renting a small van with a larger group for the trip Schaffen and/or Germany is a good option.
HotelsYou can find hotels nearby Schaffen on this site: Bookings.net
