Last year, Skydive Texel hosted the Islandboogie. A big wingsuit gathering of people from the UK and Holland.

Texel is a small island in the tip of Holland, with a good large DZ and the North Sea visible all around.

The event was a great succes: Load organising, High jumps (all jumps were from 17.000 ft!), good flying, and beautifull views.

A video of last year can be found here.

This year, Skydive Texel is proud to host the High Altitude wingsuit boogie again, and they want to make it an even bigger event. A Cessna Caravan filled with wingsuit jumpers from the UK will fly into Texel for 3 full days of wingsuit formation flying. There, they will be joined by a group of wingsuiters from Holland, Belgium, Spain etc.

Loads this year will be flying to 15000ft, occasionally to 18000ft with on board oxygen.

Andy Ford and Jari Kuosma will be doing Load Organising.

Schedule

  • July 27 - Most people from Holland/Belgium etc. arriving on the island late in the evening.
  • July 28 - full day of jumping (UK people arriving early in the morning)
  • July 29 - full day of jumping
  • July 30 - full day of jumping (UK people leaving at the end of the day)
  • July 31 - full day of jumping

Skydive Texel has asked us to put together a list of people from outside the UK who are thinking about attending the boogie.
This, so the dropzone can see how many people are attending, and arrange extra lift-capacity if needed.
So if you're coming from any other part of Europe, and want to join in on a cool big flocking event Send us an email so we can ad you to the list.

If you want to join in from the UK, check out Islandboogie.com

Accomodation

For accomodation, there is a campsite, or the wonderful Hotel de Kievit
This is where most people wil be staying. With a good bar, nice bunkrooms, or rooms with 1/2 person beds if you're more into a bit of luxury. If you want to stay there (bed and breakfast) call 0031 222 311 466 and tell Dirk what days you'll be staying. Dont forget to mention on the phone that you're a skydiver.

Travel

Next to travel by car for those from neighbouring countries, taking a budget flight (easyjet or Transavia) into either Amsterdam or Rotterdam, and from there a train to Den Helder (where the boat to the island leaves) is also quite easy.

Send us an email if you need any help/assistance in working out your travel.
